Spider Solitaire - A Winning Strategy

Spider Solitaire is one of the most popular solitaire card games in the world. It is often named Classic Solitaire Game and "the King of all solitaires".

Spider Solitaire is a lot of fun and has to be learned like any game. At first glance, this challenging and time-consuming game seems to be too complicated. But spider solitaire is a very easy game to play once you get the hang of it.

Not every game of Spider Solitaire can be won, but you have a better chance of winning if you plan your strategy carefully. Below you will find several simple rules that can increase your chances of winning Spider Solitaire.

1. Build sequences of cards by following suit

Whenever you have a choice, prefer builds in suite ("natural builds"). Natural build may be moved as a unit to be built elsewhere. This allows you to expose a hidden face down card, which you may now turn over, or expose an empty pile.

2. Try to expose hidden cards whenever possible

Uncovering hidden cards leads to a new set of possible moves. Besides, it is a way to get empty pile.

3.Try to make empty piles as early as possible

Move cards from tableaus that have fewer cards. Use empty piles as temporary storage when rearranging cards sequences into "natural" builds as far as possible. Move cards to empty spaces to turn over more cards.

4. Build on higher cards first

Among the "out of suit" builds, start with those of highest rank. The reason for this is apparent. You can not move "out of suit" build as a unit to another pile. So this build is of no use except as a temporary storage for cards from other piles. If we start with low card, the build will be finished with an Ace very quickly and then it will be useless. Starting from higher cards allows us to get maximum advantage from it.

5. Get as many cards exposed and arranged in suit order as possible before dealing the next 10 cards from the stock

Otherwise your chances of winning are significantly reduced.

6. As soon as you remove a suit, arrange the remaining cards into "natural builds"

Use empty piles as temporary storage when rearranging cards.

Spend some time practicing this strategy and soon you will find yourself beating Spider Solitaire faster and more often.

PSP Games - How To Download PSP Games From The Internet

In today's video game market you have to pay quite a bit of money to get the brand new cutting edge video game systems like the PS3, XBox 360 and even the Sony PSP, I am talking major money anywhere from $300 to $500 dollars then on top of that you have to buy the expensive games that can be $50 to $60 dollars, just ridiculous prices.

With all this money, it is pretty hard to keep up and get the newest games and or systems, so I decide to do some homework on trying to find an alternate way of getting games for my PSP. Well it didn't take long for me to cut down on the cost of buying games for my PSP, in fact, now I get all my PSP games for free.

Have you been having trouble learning how to download games on your PSP? It is really easy to learn how. Here's how to do it in 6 easy steps.

1.) Get A Memory Stick

You are going to need a lot of free space. The original 32 MB stick just won’t cut it. How can you download games or watch movies on 32 MBs?! I would recommend 256 Megs of free space.

2.) Download PSP game files to your computer

Make sure you aren’t downloading shareware but full games. Once you download the games you want to your computer, you are able to transfer them to your PSP.

3.) Decompress the file

If the games are compressed in a ZIP file, you will need a free program like Winzip or Stuffit Expander (Mac) to decompress the file. These programs will automatically unzip the file.

4.) Connect your PSP to your computer

Now, how do we play the games? To be able to play the games, you must connect the PSP to your computer (duh). You should use the free USB cable that the PSP comes with. The PSP must be in USB mode for the files to download. How to do this? Press the HOME button and scroll to the SETTINGS column. Scroll to USB CONNECTION and press X. Then you are ready for file transfer.

5.) Copy the PSP Game to your PSP

You have to copy the full game to PSP > Game. If you do not put the game in this folder, it will certainly not work.

6.) Play the game

I know it sounds to good to be true, but believe me when I say this is the real deal. It is 100% legal and extremely easy, all you have to do is download the PSP games from your computer onto your PSP and start playing. There are literally thousands of PSP games that are available to download, but you have to be care as there are a lot of sites out there that will really mess with your computer with adware and spyware.

Online Free Sudoku Puzzles Are A Great Way to Pass the Time At Home or On the Go

Without a doubt, Sudoku has become an increasingly popular pastime over the past few years.  Emerging from simply a cult style game, it has since usurped the crossword puzzle as one of the most popular pen and paper games of all time. Most commonly you can find a daily Sudoku puzzle in your local newspaper, but thanks to the internet, you can now enjoy online free Sudoku challenges from the comfort of your computer. Many popular online free Sudoku websites offer excellent puzzles that range in both size and difficulty so that anyone from a beginner to an expert can pass the time with an enjoyable puzzle.

One very excellent online free Sudoku resource is Fingertime. Their website offers a daily free Sudoku game of average difficulty. Their high tech Flash based puzzles are suitable for anyone and relieve you of the hassle of having to scramble back and forth between using the mouse and the keyboard like many online free Sudoku websites. All you have to do is simply click an open space and select the appropriate number you wish to place there. Furthermore, this website also gives you a timer so you can see how long it takes you to solve the puzzle and it automatically removes any duplicate numbers so you will not get through the entire puzzle and suddenly realize that you placed one number in the completely wrong spot.

Web Sudoku is another great online free Sudoku provider. While it is not as user friendly and lacks the timer that you get on Fingertime, you do get a much larger variety of puzzles on a daily basis. When you visit their online free Sudoku site, you will be presented with the easiest puzzle of the day.  From there, you can select other difficulties such as Easy, Medium, Hard or Evil. This variety makes this website great for any Sudoku player, no matter how much of a problem solving pro they are.  Furthermore, you can find a link on their website which will take you to a variety of jigsaw style Sudoku games. Modernized in vivid colors and brilliant animation, the jigsaw Sudoku puzzles are a nifty new way to enjoy America’s new favorite pastime.

An Australian online free Sudoku website takes the classic Sudoku puzzle and adds a few extras to it.  Firstly, you will notice on their website that there is a little chat area so you can converse with other Sudoku fans from around the world about the current puzzle you are working on. It brings a nice, group atmosphere to an otherwise individual based game. Also, this online free Sudoku website gives you the option to place numbers in squares with a little tag so you can easily remember whether or not you are completely sure about its placement.

Java Online Games

After Shockwave, Java is the most popular tool for developing free online games. It is a popular programming language which was developed by James Gosling during the 1990s. It is somewhat related to C++ but is much more simple, and is an object oriented language. Java was developed because C++ was considered to be too complex and when using it there were many errors.

C++ also lacked the ability for distributed programming.  Gosling and his colleagues wanted to produce a system that could be used on various platforms, from computer to handheld devices. By 1994 Java begin to be used on the internet. They felt that the internet would become interactive, and this would be the perfect environment to use their programming language. They were right. Java has become one of the most well known platforms in use today on the internet.

Many developers of free online games have quickly realized its potential. While Shockwave has replaced Java as the most popular engine used for online games, Java is still the tool of choice among many developers. Java became very popular when Netscape decided to support the program with their browsers. Most people use Java by the "applets" which are supported by their online browsers.

Yahoo has often been credited with heavily using Java to produce online games. Yahoo games is the portion of their website in which players can play games by themselves or against other players. While most of these games are Java applets,  others have to be downloaded onto the computer. Reviews are even featured where users can post their thoughts about the quality of the game. Yahoo is one of the most prominent promoters of free online games. Everything from fantasy sports to card games are available.

Despite this, there are some criticisms of the Java programming language. Shockwave has a 3D engine which is much more powerful, and many developers have chose it rather than Java. Others complain that it is not a very pure object oriented programming language. Those who dislike object oriented languages will not design free online games with Java.  Programs written in Java may also run slower than programs written in other languages.

Despite these complaints, Java has become one of the most popular languages used for developing independent games. Advances in this language should allow it to produce games which are much higher in quality and graphical detail. Many popular games can be played at the Java website.

For this to work, it is essential that the movies are in MP4 format. If you don't know about this format, look it up in the search engine. Got Game?

“Get in the game,” is taking on a whole new meaning. Advertisers are expanding their reach with in-game advertising, and we're helping to develop new and creative ways to zero in on the specific markets that advertisers seek through the use of games.

Advergames have been around since the mid 1990s but not until a few years ago did the platform demand the attention from advertisers that it does now.

It's clear that the game industry is booming across all demographics, and advertisers are becoming ever more attracted to their allure. Unlike traditional off-line media, promotional games produce trackable results such as the number of visitors, duration of visits, sales and more. The online trend for finding alternative ways to market to consumers is gaining momentum.

From a consumer standpoint, in-game advertising is less obtrusive than other online media formats such as pop-ups and pop-unders that often annoy Internet surfers. When users go online they are typically looking for relevant and engaging content. Games serve both of these needs.

Games aren't just for kids; audiences of all ages become absorbed in the material and concepts that are being delivered through the use of games. According to Comscore Media, men ages 18-24 and women ages 45-54 are the fastest-growing segment of online players. As an advertiser, how do you plan on capturing your audience?

Game development is highly specialized. To profitably integrate a game into your company's marketing mix, you need an expert with years of experience in game development with the know-how to promote your brand. You need a creative studio that is fully staffed with the technical talent, interactive mastery, experienced creative designers, animators and marketers for the one-of-a-kind game you want.

Silver Oaks develops specialized games for companies as a way to reach a wider consumer audience. Our game developers create a variety of games from brain teasers and product-specific games to interactive branding and casual games. You name it, we can create it!
